Are You Saved?

It is the most important question you will ever answer. The Bible shows you plainly how you can know you are ready to meet God.

The Gospel, Simply Told

God’s Word presents the way of salvation in four simple truths. Nothing here is complicated — and nothing here can be earned. Salvation is a gift, received by faith.

You Are a Sinner
The Bible declares that every one of us has sinned against a holy God. None of us measures up to His perfect standard, and sin carries a price — death, and eternal separation from God. This is the bad news that makes the good news so wonderful.

God Loves You
God did not leave you in your sin. Because He loves you, He paid the price Himself — while you were still a sinner, before you had done anything to earn His favor. Salvation is not a work you perform; it is a gift God gives.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Christ Died for You
This is the gospel: Christ died for your sins, He was buried, and He rose again the third day. His work on the cross is finished. You cannot add to it, and you need not try — Jesus paid it all.

Repent and Believe
God calls you to turn from your sin — repentance — and to trust in Jesus Christ alone to save you — faith. You do not need to clean yourself up first. Come to Him just as you are, and receive what He freely offers.

Call Upon the Lord

God’s promise is plain: whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. It is a matter of the heart — believing the gospel and receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. There are no magic words, but if you are ready, you might pray something like this:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner, and that I deserve to be separated from You forever. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and rose again the third day. Right now, I turn from my sin and I place my trust in Jesus Christ alone to save me. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. Save me, and make me Your child. Amen.

If You Have Believed, You Can Know

Your salvation does not rest on how you feel. It rests on the finished work of Christ and the promise of God. God’s Word says you can know — with certainty — that you have eternal life. The saved child of God is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ, sealed, taught, and comforted by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption.

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

Your Next Step: Baptism

If God has saved you, your next step of obedience is believer’s baptism — a public testimony, by immersion, that you have died to sin and are raised to walk in newness of life in Christ. Baptism does not save you. It plays no part in salvation and does not make you a member of the church — it is a testimony made by one who is already saved.
